It is a struggle to think of a husband and wife trainer and jockey combination to have won a big handicap chase, and perhaps Ross O'Sullivan and Katie Walsh broke the mould when teaming up to land the Racing UK-sponsored Grand National Trial.

Baie Des Iles, owned by Zorcha Wentworth, bravely made all in the testing conditions, having finished second to Bonny Kate in the same race last year.

With these different tactics employed she managed to turn the tables, galloping Bonny Kate into enough submission for her to be caught for second close home by Sambremont, four and three-quarter lengths behind the winner.
