Atzeni and Buick at the double as Crisford and Cromwell enjoy notable wins

Andrea Atzeni made two sets of connections extremely happy on the eve-of-Arc card, with the victories of Ostilio and Princess Yaiza breaking new ground for their respective trainers.

Ostilio, who made much of the running to land the Prix Daniel Wildenstein, gave Simon Crisford his first Group 2 success, while the rider's second strike on the card, aboard Princess Yaiza in the Prix de Royallieu, provided Gavin Cromwell with a first Pattern victory to supplement his many notable jumps wins.

Cromwell was present at Longchamp and understandably took great pleasure from seeing Princess Yaiza edge out Palombe and Shahnaza in a tight finish.
