Sometimes the handicapper just gets it right and the assessor can be pleased with his work in the feature 5f Betway Sprint Handicap when four horses were separated by less than a length in a blanket finish.

However, it was the green and red colours of Arzaak who held on gamely from Jack Taylor to secure another course-and-distance success on the Fibresand for the imminently-retiring Chris Dwyer.

"I actually thought he was too high in the ratings to be winning," said the trainer, who is due to saddle his last runner on November 29. "He showed a lot of guts to prevail in a bunched finish. He'll have the winter off so that will be his last run for me now.
