Prior to the start of Royal Ascot my general opinion on the juvenile division was that while there is no shortage of potentially smart sorts, no horses had placed themselves ahead of the pack.

That feeling remains following the Coventry. Certainly the right horses came to the fore, with the favourite, Arizona, defeating the previously unbeaten duo of Threat and Guildsman.

But on the flip side, 200-1 outsider Ropey Guest, who ran a screamer for connections, was beaten less than three lengths in sixth, which does potentially bring down the form.
