Another Terry Warner wonder: Gumball's Flat fame grows with City Bowl success

The legend of Gumball continues to roll on after the grey completed a hat-trick on the Flat in winning the City Bowl Handicap.

The five-year-old defeated subsequent Scottish Champion Hurdle winner Verdana Blue when switched to the Flat after bad back curtailed his hurdling exploits following a second to We Have A Dream in the Grade 1 juvenile hurdle at Aintree last year.

Now his owner Terry Warner is dreaming of more big-race success on the Flat after Silvestre de Sousa made all in the Byerley Stud-sponsored feature that was won by the legendary Eclipse in 1769.
