Amateur Baker and quirky Tambura prove the perfect match yet again

In-running punters have learned by now, but some must still have nightmares about Tambura, who was up to her usual tricks before sprinting home from an impossible looking position to gain a fourth course win in ultimately easy fashion in the 3m1f hurdle.

Tambura likes to tail herself off and does not respond to bullying, but amateur Zac Baker knows her quirks and he is a chip off the old block as the brother of Flat racing's former head waiter George, and has learned to be equally patient.

For most of a gruelling race run in deep mud, Tambura was detached from the field, but on the bottom bend for the final time she suddenly picked up the bridle and flew.
