Altior close to level of Sprinter after another spellbinding display

It always looked a case of when, rather than if, Altior would break through the 180 barrier and the RPR of 183 achieved puts him second behind former stablemate Sprinter Sacre in the pecking order of recent Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase winners.

There were some who thought it could have been close had Charbel not fallen at the second-last fence in last year's Racing Post Arkle, but a feature of Altior's racing style is how strongly he finishes races, and this was again evident here.
