All-Weather Finals Day on agenda for Intuitive after impressive win
Simon Crisford is targeting the All-Weather Championships Finals Day for the smart Intuitive, who left his rivals in the dust with a scintillating run through the field in the Class 2 mile handicap.
PJ McDonald guided the five-year-old from last to first on his first attempt beyond seven furlongs to win by a comprehensive three and a half lengths from Mission Boy.
He is now in line for a return to Lingfield on Good Friday and Crisford, who trains Intuitive with son Ed, believes the step up in trip was the key to his success.
"It all went nicely to plan. He finished his race off very nicely over that distance and we'll keep him to that trip now," he said.
"He isn't awkward, but you need a bit of luck riding him and if the gaps come at the right time then he always has a chance. We'll think about aiming him at the All-Weather Championships next."
Sydney on song
Cafe Sydney has made Lingfield a second home and maintained her unbeaten record at the track for trainer Tony Carroll in the 1m2f handicap.
The five-year-old flew down the outside under Luke Morris for her third straight win at Lingfield, and fourth in total.
"She doesn’t really travel early doors but they've gone an even gallop and that's helped her," Morris told Sky Sports Racing. "She's a filly in form and Tony's are in great form so it’s great to get opportunities for him."
