Nicky Richards is going into the weekend in the most amazing form as a perfect double from Reivers Lad and Blakerigg took his score to six winners and a second from his last seven runners this week.

The trainer, fresh from an unanswered treble at Hexham the day before, is doing little wrong at the right time as he prepares Guitar Pete for a repeat bid in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Ryan Day, who rides Guitar Pete again, initiated the double on Reivers Lad, who had not been seen at the races in 614 days since pulling up in the Grade 1 Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in April 2017.
