Alexander bags first winner since return from injury

Lucy Alexander, who fractured her cheekbone in a crashing fall here last month, rode her first winner since returning from injury when The Wise One scored for James Ewart in the 3m handicap hurdle.

"It's good to be back," said Alexander, who only made her return at Haydock on Wednesday.

The Wise One was purchased by Nicholas Sperling on a visit to Ewart's Langholm yard on Wednesday and the deal was only registered on the eve of the race.
