Albert Bartlett bid unlikely for Run Wild Fred despite impressive Grade 3 score
Paddy Power have cut Run Wild Fred to 16-1 (from 40-1) for next month's Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle, but ante-post bets should be put on hold as trainer Gordon Elliott was not quick to nominate the six-year-old for that Cheltenham contest.
Run Wild Fred earned the quotes following a surprise success in the Grade 3 Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle at Punchestown on Tuesday, a race diverted from Clonmel's cancelled meeting last week.
Mark Walsh gave the son of Shantou a very canny ride, as he stretched his rivals from the second-last on a testing surface and seemed to win with a bit in hand from odds-on favourite Lord Royal by a length and three-quarters.
