Ribblesdale runner-up Ajman Princess will head straight back into stakes company after completing the first leg of a two-part plan for the year with an easy win at odds of 1-20 in the weakest of maidens.

Having her first run since she disappointed in the Irish Oaks, for which she was supplemented at considerable expense, she was sent straight to the front by Andrea Atzeni and needed just a shake of the reins when idling in the closing stages to score comfortably by three and three-quarter lengths.

Trainer Roger Varian, who watched from home, said: "There were two reasons for keeping her in training. One was to make her a winner and the second was to win a stakes race.
