'Absolute legend' Captain Lars not finished yet after 11th win of the year

It is no wonder trainer Archie Watson described Captain Lars as "an absolute legend" after the nine-year-old made it 11 wins in 30 races this year.

Ten of the mixed wins on turf and the all-weather have come since Watson got him for £7,000 after a claimer over 7f at the course in February.

"He gave us a good guide to the better two-year-olds early in the year," said the Lambourn trainer, who has feasted on two-year-old winners as he stands one short of 100 domestic winners in 2018.
