'Absolute diamond' keeps Sam England dreaming after smart performance

Seven excellent starts in 2019 had already made Wishfull Dreaming a top-class addition to the stable of trainer Sam England, and that point was underlined again with victory in the 2m novice handicap chase.

In an engaging three-runner contest, the even-money second-favourite was held up at the rear, with keen-going and 5-6 favourite Peppay Le Pugh disputing the lead with outsider Friary Gold.

A patient Jonathan England made his move between the final two flights, coming upsides his market superior at the final fence, and stretching clear to win by four and a half lengths.
