Ian Williams did not make it to Cambridgeshire as he was entertaining clients in a hospitality box at Cheltenham, where the Tote outlet in the facility took a hammering as a long-distance double was completed by the gambled-on Rocknrollrambo.

Robbie Dunne’s mount was backed into 11-4 favourite from a morning 12-1 for the 2m7½f handicap chase but survived a scare at the second-last before running down Celtic Tune by a neck.

Richard Ryan, assistant to Williams, said: “Someone must have had their punting boots at Cheltenham and I’d expect Ian’s box is buzzing.”
