David Allan recorded his 1,000th domestic winner when Turntable lived up to his name to upset better-fancied rivals in the mile handicap.

After the race Allan, who has spent the last 11 winters riding with great success in India, confessed he and his family had fallen foul of some miscalculations relating to the milestone.

Allan said: "My missus isn't too good at maths because she thought it was yesterday but we're pretty sure it's today now.
