Randell saddles final runners before joining O'Brien team
Sally Randell will have her last runners in her own name when saddling three runners at Perth over the next two days. She is joining forces with Fergal O’Brien, her partner of the last year.
Randell, 32, took over the Broad Hinton yard at which she had assisted Andy Turnell last autumn and saddled her first winner with a licence when Goal landed a selling hurdle at Southwell in February. Goal also gave her a first win on the Flat in a seller at Brighton last month.
After five years in the Royal Artillery, she first made her name as an amateur rider in Sandown’s military races, landing the 2011 Royal Artillery Gold Cup on Surenaga, who she also trained, and winning the Grand Military Gold Cup three times.
