The popular Cue Card was retired on Tuesday morning after a sparkling career. Here are some of your memories and favourite moments of the chasing ace.

Ann Aspery
Every time he stepped out, the emotions would be all over the place. #CueCard you have a fab retirement. You have been the horse of a lifetime. Just selfishly sorry we don't get to see you and @PaddyBrennan81 one last time.

Maurice Fitzgerald
Loved Cue Card. Backed him at 65-1 when he won the Bumper at Cheltenham eight years ago. Always tried his best and he will be missed. Great that he retires fit and healthy.

Ryanair win closely followed by first Betfair Chase win! #CueCard

Jake Auburn
Such a brilliant racehorse! The people's champion!! Happy retirement Cue Card! Fully deserved!!

Kelvin Mort
Enjoy a long retirement old lad. Thanks for the memories.

Matthew Smith
Fully deserved for the people's horse. One of the best chasers in the past ten years and would have won two Gold Cups including the Triple Crown if not coming down. Probably won't be as popular a horse as Cue Card in a long time.

Three of the best: relive some of Cue Card's stunning highlights

Joanna Quade
Have a wonderful retirement. Definitely up there with the best of them. Privileged to have watched his debut at Fontwell way back in January 2010.

Paul Hurst
His first Betfair Chase. There was all the scepticism over his stamina beforehand. A top-quality field, he toyed with them all the way around, before storming away after the last. A brilliant performance and a privilege to have been there to see it. Happy retirement lad.

For me when he won the King George. Was a class act and he was unlucky in the Cheltenham Gold Cup the first time he ran. Could have won two Gold Cups. He was the people's horse.

Terry McCue
Cracking horse, all heart. First backed him to win Cheltenham Bumper only because of the name Cue being in my name, then followed him. Have well-earned retirement!
