Quiet Reflection still leading Sprint category despite July Cup reversal

Quiet Reflection still heads the sprinter category in the Cartier awards despite her defeat in Saturday's July Cup when third to Limato and Suedois.

The Karl Burke-trained filly now has 64 points - twice as many as Limato on 32 - thanks to three wins in Pattern races including the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

The most notable performance at Newmarket's July festival came from the Aidan O'Brien-trained Alice Springs. She enhanced her quest for honours in the three-year-old filly division with an impressive victory in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes that takes her on to 54 points.
