Muir: 'If Baaeed runs in the Arc would we be shying away? I would say no'

Ask William Muir if he is concerned that the world's best horse may pitch up against his star performer Pyledriver in Europe's greatest race, and the answer is a quietly confident bring it on.

Muir, like the rest of the racing world, awaits plans for Baaeed after the unbeaten titan showed new reserves of stamina with a runaway win in last week's Group 1 Juddmonte International over 1m2½f at York.

It was a performance that opened the door for Baaeed to contest the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe over a furlong and a half further – and a distance over which Pyledriver powered home in last month's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
