British racing is threatened with losing millions of pounds of annual revenue under anti-gambling proposals, including a ban on horserace betting, being considered by the Israeli government.

A report jointly commission by the Knesset's finance and justice ministries has recommended outlawing video gaming machines and horserace gambling, as well as capping growth in the gambling industry to three per cent a year, from the present level of ten per cent.

Such measures would wipe out the business built up by GBI Racing, the joint venture between Racing UK's parent company Racecourse Media Group and At The Races, and the British Tote.
