Plenty of people have pointed out the issues facing British racing, whether it be poor field sizes, the drain of equine talent or prize-money that cannot compete with more favourable financial regimes abroad.

That is the easy part, coming up with potential solutions is much harder.

Given that is the case the proposals to have emerged from an informal but highly qualified group including Peter Savill are a valuable contribution to the debate.
