Probert has sights on first Group 1 victory with exciting Guineas filly Sandrine
David Probert, who could be in the conversation to be champion Flat jockey this year, hopes to tick off a bucket list item by partnering his first Group 1 winner on talented Qipco 1,000 Guineas contender Sandrine.
The prolific jockey enjoyed a memorable season in 2021 when he rode a personal-best 170 winners and also notched a brace of Group victories on the Andrew Balding-trained Sandrine, who is as short as 14-1 for next month's Newmarket Classic but 20-1 is widely available.
Probert has made a bright start to this year with 54 winners and is 12-1 to be champion jockey with William Hill, although the actual title race starts on April 30 – the day before the 1,000 Guineas.
