Zawraq returns to the track after mammoth layoff

Zawraq, considered a potential Classic colt early last season until injury intervened, returns to action after a 560-day absence in this Listed event in which his trainer Dermot Weld has an excellent recent record having sent out five of the last eight winners.
Unbeaten in two starts, both of them over today's course, Zawraq beat Sir Isaac Newton as a two-year-old and easily accounted for the smart Endless Drama in the Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial on his only start last season.
