Phil York: first runners under rules

Phil York has his first runners as a trainer at Market Rasen today having taken over from his late father Raymond.

A highly successful amateur rider, with 300 winners in point-to-points, York, 50, sends a four runners to the track after the death of his father on Monday at the age of 80.

"I've been issued with a temporary licence and we decided we'd continue," York said. "I've trained a lot of point-to-pointers and hunter chasers, but these are my first under rules."
