Frankellina, who finished a neck runner-up over course and distance in the Musidora Stakes in May before taking sixth in the Oaks, faces some unexposed rivals as she bids for a first success this year for trainer William Haggas.

Owned by Anthony Oppenheimer, Frankellina was last seen in action at Royal Ascot when finishing a six-length sixth in the Ribblesdale Stakes and now takes a notable drop in grade.

"She’s dropping in trip after the Ribblesdale," said Haggas. "She’s fine and has been doing very well at home. It looks a nice race for her."

One of her most intriguing rivals is the Andrew Balding-trained Encapsulation, formerly an inmate at Noel Meade's yard, who made a big impression on her debut for Balding when a narrow second at Listed level at Sandown at the start of the month.

"She ran well at Sandown last time and the step back up in trip will suit," said Balding. "I’m pleased with her and she’ll be there or thereabouts."

Also boasting a three-figure official rating is Glance, a half-sister to Oaks winner Look Here who has already been placed at Group level this season.

"Things didn’t work out at Newcastle last time where she got stuck wide," said her trainer Ralph Beckett. "I’ve been happy with her over the last ten days and it’s the right race to run in."

What the rest say

James Fanshawe, trainer of Kirstenbosch
She's won two mediocre races very well. It's a big step up in class but she's been working nicely and will hopefully run well. She is a very good mover and couldn't have won her last race any easier.

Roger Varian, trainer of Rasima
Her run at Newcastle was a better performance and we're praying the rain stays away – she needs fast ground to be seen at her best. I feel she's starting to peak and I think she's got places claims if she returns to her best.
