George Scott's fine record of four winners from five runners at Hamilton means Coco Jack is the starting point when assessing this £20,000 nursery.

The gelding has been kept busy but a fourth run in July saw him record a career-best Racing Post Rating at Glorious Goodwood and it would appear he's been saved for this nursery final since.

Guaranteed stamina for what is expected to be a solidly run race over a stiff 6f should stand him in good stead, especially as his breakthrough success came over this course and distance in June.

Punters are advised to watch their Jungles with Jungle Fever representing Charlie and Mark Johnston, Jungle Time Karl Burke and Jm Jungle John Quinn.

I'm A Gambler has gone from strength to strength since landing this for Mark Johnston last year and Jungle Fever, who had no chance from stall one in a different nursery to Coco Jack at Goodwood's flagship meeting, is one to note.

Jungle Fever is unlikely to emulate the Group 1-winning feats of his sister Winter Power, but it's reasonable to assume we've yet to see the best of him.

Jungle Time may find one or two finishing better, and although a lot went wrong early for Jm Jungle in a valuable sales race at York's Ebor meeting last time, he finished behind Shandy Star over course and distance previously.

Shandy Star holds a couple of Group entries at Newmarket next month but it is Iato's Angel who clocked the quickest time of the three track-and-trip winners in the field. Iato's Angel, who like Coco Jack is owned by Middleham Park Racing, did have the benefit of racing on the fastest ground of the trio and needs to do better than at Sandown ten days ago.

What they say

George Scott, trainer of Coco Jack
He's been a pretty admirable horse this year and he's versatile when it comes to the trip. I've been very pleased with him and, for the money, it's a sensible race to run in. We're going back to six for the money because it's a good pot and it'd be a shame for him not to run. It's not the ideal trip, and he will get a good bit further in time, but he's not short of speed.

Roger Fell, trainer of Shandy Star
She's in good form and I think the race will suit her because it's a stiff finish and it should be soft ground. It's what she seems to like and we're going there with a live chance. She's won round there quite easily before and it's a good pot too.

John Quinn, trainer of JM Jungle
I'm very happy with him. He didn't really run his race at York last time out, but before that he was very consistent. He seems in good nick so we're expecting a good run. We're leaving the blinkers off him as well because they didn't seem to work.

Charlie Johnston, joint-trainer of Jungle Fever
It’s quite a valuable pot for a pretty small field and not the most competitive of races. The only concern would be soft ground, and the combination of that and six furlongs will probably stretch his stamina, but with it being a small field we thought we’d roll the dice and take our chance.
