5.15 Leopardstown
Irish Stallion Farms EBF Blue Wind Stakes (Group 3) | 1m2f | 3yo fillies | RTE2/RTV

Blue Wind, the brilliant Oaks heroine of 1981 who trainer Dermot Weld once described as the best he's ever trained, is remembered in Sunday's feature contest at Leopardstown and Weld will bid to extend his incredible record in the Group 3 with the exciting Amma Grace.

Having won the 1m2f prize, which is usually run at Naas, in recent years with high-class fillies Princess Highway (2012), Tarfasha (2014), Zhukova (2016) and Tarnawa (2019), Weld will bid for a record-equalling sixth win in the race and a fifth success in the last nine years.

This time he sends a beautifully bred Moyglare filly into battle, with the form of her Leopardstown maiden win last October boosted on Friday night by runner-up Roca Roma bolting up at Gowran.

Jessica Harrington's Salsabil Stakes second One Voice has the benefit of a run under her belt this season and rates a major player, having finished just under two lengths ahead of Raven's Cry last time, a rival she meets again here.

The Ger Lyons-trained Yaxeni, winner of a Cork maiden in good style last August, was withdrawn from the same contest due to unsuitable good-to-firm ground but warrants strong consideration with the yard in flying form.

Snow, a sister to Kew Gardens, landed a Curragh maiden last weekend at the expense of stablemate Salsa, herself a sister to dual-Group 1 winners Hermosa and Hydrangea.

Both lock horns again here and look open to any amount of improvement.

The highest-rated runner in the field is Joseph O'Brien's A New Dawn, who holds a mark of 102.

She should be streetwise with eight runs under her belt, including some excellent placed efforts in stakes company behind the likes of Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Fancy Blue and Cayenne Pepper.

Stablemate Chrysalism finished ahead of that rival in the Group 3 Leopardstown Fillies Trial last time but was probably better suited by how the race unfolded and may not confirm those placings here.

What they say

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of A New Dawn and Chrysalism
The trip is a question mark for A New Dawn but she seems to be in good form. She should handle the ground and came out of her last start well. Chrysalism has a bit to find on the figures but ran well last time and should enjoy the step up in trip. It would be great if we could pick up some black type with her.

Dermot Weld, trainer of Amma Grace
She's well and I'm satisfied with how she's progressing. I expect her to run a nice race, but like all of my horses this year, she will come on nicely for the run.

Paddy Twomey, trainer of Raven's Cry
She came out of her third in the Salsabil Stakes in good form and this seemed like the logical next step for her. The trip and race conditions look to suit her well.

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Snow and Salsa
We were delighted with both of them at the Curragh and they seem to have come out of the race in good form. They're out of two great mares and are very honest fillies. We're looking forward to running them both again.
