The presence of several Southwell regulars and a mixture of intertwining formlines make this an interesting puzzle to solve.

There is no real abundance of early pace, although Drakefell, Giogiobbo and King Of Stars, who are all drawn low, have gone from the front in the past.

In terms of handicapping, it's possible to argue that King Of Stars, Thegreatestshowman and Mulzim, who have all won over course and distance in the last five weeks, may be a shade high in the weights.

Honourable veteran Duke Of Firenze, winner of the Epsom Dash in 2013, retains ability at the age of 12, but has been well beaten in similar events on Fibresand in recent weeks.

The fairly treated Drakefell is another who has not really fired over the last couple of months so, through the process of elimination, we're left with Big Impact and Giogiobbo.

Low-weighted Big Impact might run a big race, but it could be locally trained Giogiobbo's turn to shine.

He renews rivalry with King Of Stars, winner of the 5f handicap on January 7 in which he finished sixth, on 7lb better terms, and is equipped with cheekpieces this time.

Giogiobbo won five times in that headgear during his days in France, and can sit close to the pace before proving strongest in the final furlong.

Although all of his ten career wins have been recorded over 6f or further, he shows enough speed on the Fibresand to win over the minimum trip.

What they say

Mick Appleby, trainer of King Of Stars
He has a decent chance as he seems to be improving with his racing. He was quickly out of the stalls when scoring there last time and hopefully he can do so again.

Amy Murphy, trainer of Thegreatestshowman
He won at the track the time before last so likes the surface and he should be thereabouts again.

Mike Murphy, trainer of Mulzim
He bled when he ran there last time and has had some treatment and time off. He's shown no signs of bleeding at home since but it's always in the back of your mind.

David Griffiths, trainer of Duke Of Firenze
He seems as good as ever at home and Graham Lee should get on well with him as he's a tricky horse to ride. He could still be well handicapped and we are quietly confident.

Robyn Brisland, trainer of Big Impact
He wasn't quite right when we trotted him up this morning so we'll see how he is in the morning before we make a decision whether he runs or not.
