Tribal Path, trained less than six miles from Bellewstown by Damian English, will be attempting back-to-back wins in this handicap in which the seven-year-old faces nine rivals, including last year's runner up Total Demolition.

A seven-time winner, Tribal Path, usually a front-runner, has not won since landing this event 12 months ago. Donagh O'Connor, who rode him to victory on that occasion, again has the mount, claiming 5lb.

No three-year-old has won the race since it was opened to older horses in 2007. Representing the age-group today are the Michael Halford-trained Allography and Aidan O'Brien's Old Time Waltz, the mount of the trainer's daughter Ana.

Five-time winner Ruler Of France, trained by Paddy Twomey and sometimes a front-runner, is having his second start of the year, having finished sixth on his reappearance at Clonmel in May.

What they say

Damian English, trainer of Tribal Path
He won the same race last year and, while he disappointed last time, he seems to be coming back to himself. I'm happy with him and he should give a good account.

Pat Martin, trainer of Ishebayorgrey
His recent form hasn't been good, but he was drawn badly a few times and has finished out his races well. We think the mile will suit him and, as it's a local track for us, we're hoping for a big run.

Michael Halford, trainer of Allography
He's been consistent and has been working well. Conor [McGovern] gets on well with him and the trip and the ground should suit. He's due to go to the July sales.

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Old Time Waltz
She had two good runs last month, winning at Naas and only just losing out at Limerick. She seems in good form and the trip and ground should suit.

John Larkin, trainer of Total Demolition
He was second in the race last year and is in good form but he's probably handicapped out of it. He's desperate out of stalls, but if he can come with a run on the outside he could go close.
