The heat is on for summer jumping this weekend, and not just because of the soaring temperatures.

It could do with something special from its flagship meeting after a difficult few weeks that have caused questions to be raised about the summer jumping programme, its timing and whether it ought to be cut back.

Stratford is starting its Sunday fixture earlier and has taken numerous steps to mitigate the effects of the expected extreme heat, while equine cooling fans will be invaluable at Market Rasen, even if the forecast is not quite so sweltering in Lincolnshire.
