O'Brien is responsible for three of the eight runners in the Listed event over a mile and reports Ship Of Dreams to be in rude health ahead of her 13th start of the year.

"Ship Of Dreams has had a great season and is very consistent," he said. "She has been holding her form together well. If we could get a bit more black type here that would be great. She seems to be in very good form," O'Brien said.

Ship Of Dreams has yet to get her head back in front since shedding her maiden tag at Dundalk in January but has been placed five times since.

O'Brien's other two runners are the 76-rated Julienne and Baroness, who returns from a 171-day absence.

"Baroness is back from a break and it is her first run for a while so she should come on for it. She's in good form. We are chasing some black type for Julienne," O'Brien added.

O'Brien's youger brother Donnacha will be on board North Face who won a Navan maiden on his sole start to date.

Another unbeaten runner in the line-up is Moteo. She landed a Leopardstown maiden impressively in August and trainer Patrick Prendergast believes this assignment will tell him where he stands with her.

Prendergast said: "This is something of a fact-finding mission with Moteo. I was thrilled with her at Leopardstown but that maiden has not worked out well."

The highest-rated runner in the field is the Jim Bolger-trained Zorion, who boasts a mark of 103.

Murphy seeks compensation

Joe Murphy was left frustrated after Silverkode failed to make the final cut for the valuable Challenge Cup at Ascot on Saturday and plan B has brought him to Cork for the Buy and Save Online Via www.corkracecourse.ie Handicap (5.05).

Silverkode was last seen during Irish Champions Weekend when collared by Zap in the final strides of the Sovereign Path Handicap at Leopardstown.

Murphy said: "The plan was Ascot. We were keen on going for that race but they only allowed 18 runners and he was balloted out. We have decided to come here now. He has top-weight but he seems in very good form and we will see how he gets on before making any further plans."

Beware of your Beaches

There is a sandy theme to the opening Kanturk Median Auction Maiden (2.05) with Coral Beach and Frosty Beach set to fight it out for favouritism.

Coral Beach will be having her 11th start as a two-year-old. She has been sent off favourite six times but has yet to get her head in front. The Zoffany filly has been placed seven times.

Frosty Beach is more lightly-raced with Dermot Weld's filly set to have her third start of the season. She was a beaten favourite at Bellewstown on her debut and finished fifth to Foxtrot Liv at the Curragh on her latest start.

Creevytennant returns at Ludlow

Ludlow stage a typically valuable card on Wednesday, with more than £12,000 on offer to the winner of the 3m Kevin Mallon Celebrates 60th Handicap Chase (3.10).

There would be no more popular winner than 14-year-old Creevytennant, who has firmly established himself as a stable legend at Fergal O'Brien's Gloucestershire yard.

The veteran, who is returning from a short break, is back under a new jockey.

Connor Brace, a conditional rider based with O'Brien, has ridden three winners from 31 rides.The 17-year-old would have been seven and still in primary school when Creevytennant made his debut in a Loughbrickland point-to-point back in April 2008.

"Connor takes 10lb off and it's nice that he's only three years older than the horse!" said O'Brien.

"Creevytennant hasn't run for a while but I'm looking forward to it. It's a right-handed track and good ground, which should suit him."

He added: "He's been great at home, he still shows all of his enthusiasm."

Belmount is the sole last-time-out winner in the field and commands respect having won a novice chase over the course and distance back in 2015.

Now aged nine, Nigel Twiston-Davies's stayer led for most of the way and jumped boldly to defy 12 stone when winning at Perth at the end of last month, for which he has been raised 6lb.

His trainer said: "I was delighted with his last win. He's been going well at home and I'm looking forward to it, the ground shouldn't be an issue for him."

Nicky Henderson has had a 50 per cent strike-rate in the past fortnight and he has applied cheekpieces to Forever Field, who has been consistent over hurdles of late.

He said: "We just thought they might help him. He loves quick ground and he's been fine at home since his last run."
