Three runners who catch the eye at Fairyhouse

Brelade (12.05)

The Gordon Elliott-trained five-year-old will be bidding to get of the mark over fences at the fifth attempt in Saturday's opening 2m beginners' chase having been placed three times.

Disappointing at Punchestown on his most recent start, Jack Kennedy's mount had previously finished behind two exciting novices in Petit Mouchoir, at Punchestown, and Footpad at Navan.

Elliott said: "Brelade is in good form. His placed form is good and this looks a nice opportunity for him. Hopefully he might get his turn."

Fairymount Boy (2.20)

The eight-year-old has done well for trainer Michael P Hourigan this season, winning handicap hurdles at Gowran Park and Thurles and going close when beaten half a length at Limerick on his most recent start.

Testing ground and Saturday's two-mile trip will suit, and Hourigan said: "He keeps improving and ran a smart horse close at Limerick last time. Everything is good with him and we're quite hopeful.

"He should be there or thereabouts as he'll have the conditions he likes."

Dromore Lad (2.55)

The Dermot McLoughlin-trained five-year-old will be bidding for a third win this season in the 2m7f handicap.

McLoughlin said: "He's a grand little horse who seems to be improving. The ground will suit and although he's going up a couple of furlongs in trip that shouldn't be a problem.

"The one slight concern is whether the race might be coming a bit soon after his win at Limerick a couple of weeks ago."

Danny Hand, who claims 7lb, won on Dromore Lad over two and a half miles at today's track in October and is again on board.
