Three interesting runners to note on the all-weather at Newcastle

Newcastle provides this evening's action, with the eight-race card starting at 5.25.
Suwaan (7.30)
Suwaan was below his best at Beverley last time, beating just two horses home, but he had previously been in good form, following up a win at Musselburgh with a fine second at Doncaster and is worth another chance. A strong-travelling type, Suwaan is ideally suited to the all-weather and has run well on his three previous starts on an artificial surface, either winning or finishing in the frame.

Tiercel (8.30)
Tiercel hasn't been seen on the course for over a year, but Roger Varian has his string in fine form at the moment and the absence should not be an issue.
An impressive winner of a Kempton maiden last September, Tiercel followed up in good style on his handicap debut, winning with more authority than the winning margin of a head would suggest.
Completely unexposed after just five starts, and with the assistance of runaway title-race leader Silvestre de Sousa, the four-year-old looks fairly treated and should give a good account.

Zamjar (9.00)
Zamjar has been beaten on his last seven outings, but has slipped down to a fair mark and his latest effort suggested he was ready to strike
The three-year-old, who defied a 4lb higher mark in May, travelled with zest here last month, but finished fifth after being denied a clear run. However, plenty of encouragement can be taken from the effort, and he is clearly up to winning off his current mark.
The drop back to seven furlongs looks a positive, as does the booking of De Sousa.
