'The value surely lies with Torquator Tasso' - our panel on the top-class action

Who wins a fascinating King George (3.35) at Ascot?

Paul Binfield, Paddy Power Older horses have taken the upper hand, winning seven of the last ten runnings, so I’m siding with Mishriff. He ran better this season than he did in last year’s Eclipse, just failing to overhaul Vadeni, and he found only found Adayar too good in this in 2021. He’d been off four months before Sandown and has had the perfect preparation.

Robert Havlin, jockey None of the six runners would be shock winners, which shows the strength of the race. I’ve ridden both Emily Upjohn and Mishriff at home recently and both are in great form. I’m hoping it’s going to be tight between them at the line.

James Hill, tipster If you’re having an interest, the value surely lies with Torquator Tasso. Obviously he’ll need a drop of rain beforehand, but we’re talking about a winner of a good Arc who is still a double-figure price in a race where Germany has a good record. If he wins, everyone will ask themselves why on earth they didn’t back him.
