Credit where credit is due. BHA race-planning will have a smile on its collective face with the first running of this Listed race after it attracted what one trainer described as 'the most competitive novice chase field of the season'.

It is easy to see just why. Even though the race is restricted to mares, all eight runners can claim to have or have had a rating buzzing around the 140 mark and rarely can a midweek race boast five Cheltenham Festival Grade 1 runners from nine months earlier.
