The one race you don't want to miss on Monday

2.35 Gowran Park
Ashgrove Stables Irish EBF Fillies Handicap | 7f | 3yo+ | RTV

Why is it interesting?

On the same June Bank Holiday Monday in 2016 Joseph O'Brien enjoyed an excellent start to his training career by sending out four winners, two of them at Gowran Park, on his first day in his new role.

Justice Frederick, ridden by his brother, Donnacha, gave him his first winner in a juvenile maiden on this card and ever since the winners have flowed for the County Kilkenny-based trainer, who has four runners in this fillies' handicap, the most valuable race on a seven-race programme.

Donnacha O'Brien partners Waitingfortheday, who won four in a row last summer and showed signs of a return to form on her most recent start at the Curragh nine days ago.

Saturday's Derby-winning jockey Seamie Heffernan rides Dramatise, another of the O'Brien quartet.

What do the stats say?

Joseph O'Brien, who trains four of the 11 runners, has sent out five winners on the Flat in the past five days.

The Jim Bolger-trained Solar Wave, who heads the weights, and four-time winner Annie Fior are two course-and-distance winners in the line-up.

What do the trainers say?

Brendan Murphy, trainer of Annie Fior
She's in good order and in better form than she was going to the Curragh last time. We're happy with her and she should be there or thereabouts.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Waitingfortheday, Dramatise, Vallambrosa and Tuamhain
Waitingfortheday is in good order and ran very well at the Curragh last time. The return to seven furlongs will suit her. Dramatise's first two runs of the season were quite good and although she was disappointing last time, she seems in good form. Any juice in the ground would suit Vallambrosa while Tuamhain, who did well late last season, has been disappointing so far this year.

Madeleine Tylicki, trainer of Mary Salome
We were very happy with her win at Limerick against older horses so early in the season. She came out of the race well and is in good order. Fingers crossed she'll give another big run.

What do our tipsters say?

Joseph O'Brien runs four and the pick may be Waitingfortheday, who has won over six furlongs but probably wants seven now and that appeared the case when rallying late on at the Curragh nine days ago. Angels is running into form and she's feared most.
