Why is it interesting?

We get the chance to find out whether Royal Aide is thrown in following last week's Killarney romp.

The son of Galileo and Listed winner, Palace, made a mockery of a mark of 72 to land a handicap over a mile and three furlongs by a wide margin, and the handicapper has reacted by hiking him 14lb.

As he was already entered here, Royal Aide escapes with a 6lb penalty for his Killarney win and is effectively 8lb well in.

Joseph O'Brien's improving three-year-old looks sure to start favourite with his younger brother, Donnacha, set to ride the horse for only the second time as he seeks a second jockeys' championship.

Royal Aide is one of four last-time-out winners as Edification was successful at Tramore, Drakensberg won a hot handicap at Leopardstown and Construct won a hurdle event at Sligo.

What do the stats say?

Favourites have a good recent record in this race with three market leaders winning in the last five years, including 6-4 shot Astronomer last year.

It is worth taking a second look when Damian English books former champion, Colin Keane, as the pair have a level stakes profit of €5.25 for every €1 staked when teaming up this season.

Jessica Harrington, who is represented by Sweet Dime and Bit Of Banter, has saddled only four runners at Bellewstown in 2019 but two of those have won.

What do the trainers say?

Mark Fahey, trainer of Edification
He won well at Tramore but there were no stalls for that race which was a big help. He has left a few races behind him by being slowly away. Unfortunately there are stalls in use for this but if he comes away with them he would have to have a decent chance.

John McConnell, trainer of Construct
He has done really well over hurdles for us and we thought we would bring him back for a Flat handicap at our local track as it's a nice prize. He is fit and well and should be competitive off his mark.

Damian English, trainer of See Of Rome
He ran a cracker at Galway and you can completely forget his last run in an apprentice race as he had a bad draw and had to come very wide. We are quietly confident of a very big run from him and he could not be in better form. It is great to have booked Colin [Keane] too.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Royal Aide
He won well at Killarney last week and he is out again quickly with a penalty which won't make life easy, but our hand has been forced a little as he has gone up a lot in the weights.

What do our tipsters say?

Spotlight: Brian Sheerin
It's hard to look past Royal Aide as he shaped like a horse only just beginning to get the hang of things when running out an impressive winner at Killarney six days ago and a 6lb penalty shouldn't stop him. There should be a good bit of pace on here, with Construct likely to be ridden handily, and that will play to the strengths of Drakensberg, who has a pretty decent turn of foot.
