The Lowdown: Exeter to race after third inspection but Leicester lost to frost
Today's news
- MIXED FORTUNES: racing goes ahead at Exeter, where the going is heavy, after the course passed a third inspection at 11am, but freezing temperatures have forced Leicester to cancel its meeting. Exeter clerk of the course Daniel Cooper said: "It hit -2C overnight and the low temperatures hung around longer than we had hoped but it is perfectly raceable now. The four fences in the back straight will be omitted and we'll have a shared rather than split Plymouth bend."
- DUBLIN RACING FESTIVAL: Patrick Mullins is expecting "huge improvement" from Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase hope Chacun Pour Soi as the exciting chaser bids to avenge his Christmas defeat by A Plus Tard at next week's Dublin Racing Festival.
- TOUGH TIMES: Nottinghamshire-based trainer Ivan Furtado is still recovering from a weekend to forget which featured a wrong horse mix-up at Lingfield and the death of his three-year-old gelding Bad At Bay at Chelmsford.
- MAMMOTH LAYOFF: Superyacht bids to defy a three-and-a-half year spell on the sidelines when making his yard debut for David O'Meara after 1341 days off the track in the opener at Newcastle (4.05).
