• TAUNTON LOST: Taunton's seven-race card was the latest to fall victim to the weather when the waterlogged course failed to pass a 7.30 inspection. However, there was some respite for jumps fans after Ludlow got the go-ahead.

• POSITIVE OUTLOOK: Officials at Cheltenham, including regional director Ian Renton, remain confident the festival will go ahead despite concerns about the spread of coronovirus.

• IN TRANSITION: William Hill's chief executive Ulrik Bengtsson insists the bookmaker is in good health despite posting loses of £37.6 million in the last financial year.

• BIG CHANCE: Following the release of the Cheltenham handicap weights, Jamie Snowden believes Thomas Macdonagh has a big chance of giving him a second festival winner when he lines up in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle next month.

• BAD LUCK: Sean Bowen will miss the Cheltenham Festival after suffering a broken collarbone at Kempton on Saturday.
