The Lowdown: Exeter forced to cancel meeting due to waterlogged track
Today's news
- EARLY CANCELLATION: today's meeting at Exeter has been cancelled due to a waterlogged track. Clerk of the course Daniel Cooper said: "Unfortunately we’ve had no improvement overnight. We had 14 and a half millimetres of rain yesterday that meant the track was waterlogged from around 5.30pm and there’s been no change overnight. Our next meeting is next Tuesday but we’re reassured by a dry outlook after today for that meeting.” Racing goes ahead at Fairyhouse following a morning inspection.
- UNBEATEN AIM: Henry de Bromhead is favouring the PCI Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on February 1 as the pre-Cheltenham target for Honeysuckle.
- CHELTENHAM POINTERS: Thebannerkingrebel will attempt to enhance his credentials for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday.
- JUMPING TO IT: George Waud, the film producer behind Snakes On A Plane and the Margot Robbie-starring Terminal, is preparing to go from Hollywood to Hexham and Haydock.
