There was no further deterioration in conditions overnight following BetVictor Gold Cup day at Cheltenham on Saturday, with the ground remaining soft, heavy in places for the final day of the November meeting.

Clerk of the course Simon Claisse said: "The going remains soft, heavy in places and a mostly dry day is forecast although there could be showers. I'm very pleased with the way the track took the racing yesterday especially after the floods that were on it on Thursday.

"We have moved the hurdle rail out – two yards right the way round – but we have no scope for moving the chase rail, although they had fresh ground on the inner of the chase track yesterday and the jockeys were very positive about the ground [in the circumstances]."

The seven-race card, which includes the rearranged Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase (1.15), is highlighted by the Greatwood Hurdle (3.00) in addition to three Grade 2 contests.

Champion Chase runner-up Politologue faces last term's JLT Novices' Chase scorer Defi Du Seuil in a potentially thrilling Shloer Chase (2.25), while Al Dancer and Getaway Trump meet again in the Arkle Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (1.50).

There are seven non-runners to report including Grapevine in the Greatwood Hurdle (3.00) due to the going.

The four non-runners in the opening conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle (12.45) are Jacamar, Le Milos, Treasure Dillon and Lungarno Palace, while Legends Ryde and Plenty In The Tank are out of the concluding bumper (4.00).
