The latest going, weather, non-runners and key betting news
The always-informative Dante meeting gets under way at York with Shutter Speed bidding to frank her credentials as a leading player in the Investec Oaks - or possibly France’s version, the Prix de Diane - when she faces four rivals in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.
That run will depend on a course walk by trainer John Gosden after the first race, to assess the ground which at 1.50pm had been changed to soft all round after 5mm of rain since midday
In the Musidora it is Jim Bolger rather than the omnipresent Aidan O’Brien who provides the Irish challenge in the shape of Salsabil Stakes winner Vociferous Marina.
Thirty five minutes earlier British Champions Sprint hero The Tin Man makes his seasonal return in the Duke of York Stakes. Jungle Cat, Brando and Magical Memory are all familiar and talented individuals in opposition, while Baccarat attempts to continue a hot streak in his family, after sister Precieuse won the French 1,000 Guineas at Deauville on Saturday.
