Betfair Chase outsider clipped to make an impact against previous winners
The going remains soft (good to soft in places on the Hurdle course) at Haydock, which stages an exciting running of the Grade 1 Betfair Chase (3.00), featuring dual King George winner Clan Des Obeaux.
He remains solid in the market at 2-1 behind Lostintranslation, the 6-4 favourite who is bidding to win the race for the second time. Bristol De Mai, winner of this race in 2017 and 2018 and runner-up last year, is weak in the betting at 3-1 to gain revenge.
There has been support for Bellshill, who has been trimmed to 18-1 (from 20s) on his debut for Sandy Thomson. The ten-year-old twice won at the top level for Willie Mullins, including the Irish Gold Cup.
Due to the going, I K Brunel is a non-runner in the Grade 3 Betfair Exchange Stayers' Handicap Hurdle (2.25). The market is headed by Irish-trained contenders Relegate and The Jam Man, both at 5-1.
The going has been changed to soft at Ascot (from soft, good to soft in places), where 6-4 favourite Laurina makes her first start for trainer Paul Nicholls in the the Grade 2 Coral Hurdle (2.40).
