The future stars out to make splash at higher level

The Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes is the big draw on Saturday but the quality runs deep at Newbury and Newmarket.

Newbury plays host to the Shalaa Carnarvon Stakes over 6f and the 1m2f Haras De Bouquetot Fillies' Trial Stakes, while the second race on Newmarket's card is the Betway King Charles II Stakes over 7f.

All three Listed contests are full of intrigue and here are six promising types to note.

2.20 Newbury

Simmie makes her first appearance for new trainer Karl Burke in this race and is a three-time winner including scorer of a Listed event in France last year.

While she has a 3lb penalty she progressed nicely during her juvenile season and could be one to keep developing.

The Robert Cowell-trained Visionary has been in the frame four times this year and certainly looks capable of getting his nose back in front. This will be his first start on turf since May last year and, if he shows the same development he has done on the all-weather, it is likely he could go close again.

2.40 Newmarket

Having run over 6f last time out where he finished seventh, Seven Heavens reverts back to the 7f trip which he has won over before. While he disappointed last time out at Ascot behind Blue Point he remains the type who can easily get back to winning ways.

Gosden said: "He ran in a very hot renewal of the Pavilion Stakes at Ascot where he performed well enough, but we feel that seven furlongs is more his trip."

Andrew Balding's Beat The Bank will be looking for his third victory in a row and significantly won last time out over course and distance.

With that in mind, he is certainly set to be another big player and could be hard to beat in this contest.

Haras De Bouquetot Fillies' Trial Stakes | Listed | 1m2f | 3yo | RUK

Roger Varian's three-year-old filly Prosper improved from her seasonal debut in April, where she finished second, to go one better to beat Icespire a short head over a mile at Ascot. She will be making her first step up to stakes level and could progress again.

Varian said: "Prosper progressed nicely from her Chelmsford reappearance to win a useful-looking conditions race at Ascot and she'll be well suited by the extra two furlongs here. The ground is an unknown, but we’ll let her take her chance in what looks an open race."

Lining up against Prosper is the Clive Cox-trained Flood Warning. She boasts the best winning record in the field with three victories to her name which have all come this year with her most recent win coming over this 1m2f trip.

Cox said: "She has won three times so far this year. This is a big step up in class, but while she's in such good form and underfoot conditions suit her, we are delighted to have the chance for her to earn some black type."
