The build-up to the Grand National, Cheltenham Festival and Christmas racing programme starts a long way out – in most of those cases it has started already. But none will feature a staying handicap chase as hot at the Coral Gold Cup.
This is not a subjective argument. By the best measures that I can use, the Coral Gold Cup is a harder race to compete in than the National, Welsh National or the Ultima at Cheltenham.
