'That was a solid run' - who does top jockey James Doyle fancy on Saturday?
How will you approach an intriguing running of the Greenham Stakes?
James Doyle, jockey It’s a small but select field with two dual Group 1 winners in the race and a Gimcrack winner. As usual a few of the runners are testing their fuel tanks as to which path they will take for later in the season, including my mount Flaming Rib. He has a hood on to help him get the trip but the likeliest winner looks to be Perfect Power, who should be suited by a flat seven furlongs and quick ground.
Ian Bartlett, commentator With trepidation, as one should with all Classic Trials. The market rightly makes the two who won Group 1s on each of their last two starts the leading fancies, but I'm going to side with Lusail. That last of four at Doncaster is going to make him a decent price. The presence of Perfect Power and Angel Bleu mean that this is well above average, but with Angel Bleu’s Group 1 wins being on much softer ground I'm not that keen on a short price about him.
Olly Eden, Raceform analyst The Richard Fahey-trained Perfect Power confirmed himself a top-drawer juvenile sprinter last season and could prove a tough nut to crack. He avoids a penalty for his cosy Group 1 wins in the Prix Morny and Middle Park, and the way he hits the line suggests this step up to 7f will be no issue. This could become tactical and his superior speed on this ground may prove crucial.
