The ultimate heavyweight Stradivarius is in the familiar position of topping the bill on day three of Doncaster's St Leger meeting as he bids to leave a Yorkshire crowd in raptures for the second time in just three weeks.

The supreme stayer might be in the twilight of his career but his box-office appeal shows no signs of fading, particularly after his euphoric victory at York last month.

Mishriff and Snowfall might have dazzled at the Ebor meeting, but neither was afforded the reception of Bjorn Nielsen's seven-year-old following the Lonsdale Cup.
