Baaeed's emergence as a colt of unlimited potential in the summer of 2021, so soon after the death of Hamdan Al Maktoum that March, was a poignant reminder of the late owner-breeder's influence on the industry globally.

With the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II, who bred and owned Baaeed's fifth dam Height Of Fashion before selling her to Sheikh Hamdan, for whom she became a foundation broodmare, those links with the great owner-breeders of the past grow ever dimmer.
