Having finished third behind Caravaggio in the Group 3 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on his most recent start, the dual five furlong scorer Son Of Rest steps up a furlong in trip to tackle the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes (3.05).

Fozzy Stack, trainer of the three-year-old, said: "Son Of Rest came out of the Curragh race well and we're looking forward to him going up in distance. He's in good form and handles testing ground well."

Chris Hayes's mount faces 13 rivals including sprightly veteran Gordon Lord Byron and the Aidan O'Brien-trained pair Cougar Mountain and Alphabet.

Ballydoyle trio

Sizzling and Ballet Shoes, who finished second and third respectively in the Group 3 Park Stakes at Naas two weeks ago, are joined by stablemate Bye Bye Baby to create a three-pronged attack for Aidan O'Brien in the Listed Staffordstown Stakes (4.45).

Bye Bye Baby, the mount of Donnacha O'Brien, won a seven furlong maiden at Newmarket eight days ago, while Padraig Beggy teams up with Ballet Shoes and Wayne Lordan with Sizzling in the seven-runner mile event.

"It's just over a week since Bye Bye Baby won at Newmarket. She hasn't done much since but seems in good form. We've also been happy with the other two fillies since their runs at Naas," said Aidan O'Brien, who has trained five of the last eight winners.

Suitable ground for Harrington pair

Brother Bear and Brick By Brick look to dominate the betting for the Listed Legacy Stakes (2.35) over six furlongs and trainer Jessica Harrington struggles to split the pair.

The drop back in trip to six furlongs will suit Brother Bear, who has failed to build on the promise he showed early in the season when his two wins included one at this level and is also now fitted with cheekpieces.

Harrington said yesterday: "We tried Brother Bear over seven furlongs in the National Stakes and I think the distance of this race will suit him better. He seems in good form.

"Brick By Brick surprised me a bit when winning a similar type race at Fairyhouse last time and is also in good form. Both horses will handle the ground."

Opposition to the Harrington-trained pair include Gobi Desert, who finished second to Brick By Brick at Fairyhouse, and recent winners Aurora Eclipse and Powersville, who has scored over course and distance.
